The most mountainous country in Central America, Honduras is celebrated for its Mayan ruins and ecological bounty, including some of the best beaches in the Caribbean. Each region has distinctive culinary dishes and nearly every village has its own soccer team!
Even though basic Spanish is preferable, AFS provides intensive classes as well as a 4-day orientation program which includes visiting Mayan ruins with a local guide.
