Internationalvolunteerday

4/12/2006 - It's International Volunteer Day!

This year’s International Volunteer Day will again pay tribute to the selflessness and spirit of hundreds and thousands of volunteers worldwide. The day provides an opportunity for the community and organisations to recognise and thank their volunteers who have generously provided their time and commitment to providing services that go a long way in making the world a better place. At the core of International Volunteer Day are the values of tolerance, peace, dignity, sensitivity and harmony.

To our hosting and sending volunteers, to orientation and support volunteers, our host families and our administrative volunteers such as our chairs, treasurers and secretaries. You are the mortar that holds the bricks together that creates AFS Intercultural Programs and on International Volunteer Day we would like to say THANK YOU for your contribution to AFS and your belief in creating a more just and peaceful world.
