Millions of visitors come to Australia each year to explore its unique nature, beauty, wildlife and much more. Join an AFS Safari and discover one of the world’s most magnificent countries!

To give AFS students and their host siblings the opportunity to explore Australia and make friends from all over the world.

AFS offers a number of fun and adventurous safaris each year!

In addition to Safari Staff, two Group Leaders will also join and monitor each Safari trip. As always, AFS provides 24-hour support and medical cover for all participants, as our participants’ safety is our number one priority.

Bushtrek : 9-17th April 2010
For the last twenty years Bushtrek has been organised to show our students and participants from overseas a little more of our unique country and to give them a taste for what it is like to have to live and survive in the remote Outback regions of Australia. The Broken Hill Bushtrek has grown in popularity every year and continues to amaze those who decide to join us on this unique adventure. Tour includes:

Camel rides See some unique Australian wildlife Sleep under the stars Fossick for opals Swim in rock pools

Tour cost : $600 (excluding domestic travel)

Red Centre Tour : 19th June -10th July 2010
Want to escape to the vibrant history, colour and majestic landscape of the Australian outback? Join us on an amazing outback camping safari for two weeks of action‐packed adventure and learning. From Sydney to Australia’s beautiful red centre and beyond, this journey will enable you to:

Learn about Aboriginal culture and history Discover opal-mining towns Climb Uluru and visit Kata Tjuta Visit the amazing beaches of Byron Bay and Surfers Paridise Experience all the fun of the Gold Coast including visiting Dreamworld theme park.

Tour cost : $2750 or $2650 if you book before the end of April(excluding domestic travel). Domestic travel prices are also cheaper the earlier you book.

AFS WA North West Safari: 20 September – 7 October 2010

Explore the spectacular ranges, waterfalls & gorges of Western Australia! Join fellow AFS students on this amazing 16.5 day tour of the North West. Travelling north through historic New Norcia, the outback, station & mining country to The Pilbara & Karijini National Park; you will have the opportunity to:

Hike and swim in gorgeous settings Snorkel on Ningaloo Reef at Coral Bay Visiting Monkey Mia, home of the friendly dolphins! Learn more about Indigenous Australian culture

Tour cost : $1980 (excluding domestic travel)

Chaperones Wanted!

If you are interested in being a chaperone on an AFS Safari, please register. You need to be a registered volunteer, have a Senior First Aid Certificate and a current Working With Children Clearance. Click here to download a copy of the Group Leader Profile form.
