THIS SCHOLARSHIP IS CLOSED FOR THIS YEAR!

AFS is pleased to announce that the Commonweath Department of Defence is once again offering eight full year scholarships to any AFS country worldwide departing in 2009!

The scholarships cover the entire AFS participation fee. This includes:
√ Return travel from your home right to the door of your host family
√ Orientation and enrichment activities during the stay
√ Medical costs incurred during the visit, except for pre-existing conditions, dental and eye care

Who is eligible?
Any child of a Navy, Army, Air Force or Civilian employee (children of Reserve members on full time service are also eligible) who:
√ Are attending secondary school in Australia and in Year 9, 10, 11 or 12 at the time of application
√ Meet the AFS application guidelines

How do I apply?
You can register your interest by enquiring online or calling 1300 131 736 by 30 April 2008.

When is the closing Date for Applications?
Ensure that your complete AFS online application is submitted by 1 July 2008.

The Department of Defence has been working in partnership with AFS since 2000.

During this time 40 students have been sponsored to take up the challenge of living and studying overseas for one year.
